Earth's Bounty: Religious Sister Plays Role of Farmer, Beekeeper, Vineyard Worker
Air date: Week of 09/24/2008
Story length: 04:54
Producer: Jennifer Szweda Jordan
You may be used to seeing Catholic nuns without their long dark habits by now. But we recently came across another breed of sister: one who rides a tractor or a truck as often as a car and frequently wields a chainsaw. She wears work boots and is as deeply tanned as a farmer, which is pretty much what she is. The Allegheny Front's Jennifer Szweda Jordan has this story as part of our Earth's Bounty series on food and the environment.
