Fifteen years ago, the federal government set standards to regulate using sewage sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plants on farmland. But some have questioned whether the standards are good enough. The Environmental Protection Agency's begun taking another look at what's in sewage sludge - but will anything change - and when?
