The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will hold three public hearings in April to gather public comment on a proposed pipeline that will feed natural gas liquids to Shell’s multi-billion dollar chemical plant in Beaver County.
Shell’s 97-mile Falcon pipeline will carry ethane to the company’s $6 billion plant in Monaca, Pa. The state extended the public comment period for the pipeline until April 17 after environmental groups asked for more time to review the pipeline’s impact on waterways and local communities.
The pipeline’s route will go through Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties; all three will get a public hearing.
Each hearing goes from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The hearing schedule is:
