Andrea Laurion

Andrea has produced audio and longform journalism pieces investigating overlooked moments in pop culture history. Her essays and humor writing on culture, class, and identity can be found in such places as Slate, The Washington Post, Shondaland, Hobart, The Rumpus, The Billfold, The Toast, The Hairpin, and Pittsburgh City Paper, among others. Andrea is a recent graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies for radio & podcasting. Before getting into audio, Andrea worked as an obituary writer, a lunch lady, a wedding photographer assistant, a children’s birthday party hostess, a haunted house actor, and an admin assistant many times over.
